Business holidays are the per-year list of days your office is closed, and Pipeline uses them only where a rule counts business days. Answers to the common questions about federal holidays, planning ahead, and what changes when you add one.
Does Pipeline know about federal holidays?
No, and that's on purpose. Offices don't observe the same days, so Pipeline asks you which ones your company closes for rather than guessing. Anything you haven't added counts as an ordinary business day.
Do I need to enter weekends?
No. Saturdays and Sundays are always excluded from business-day counting. The list is only for the extra days your office is closed.
Who can add business holidays?
Only the master admin. The list applies across every location, so it lives with the account-wide settings. A location admin won't see the option.
Do I have to redo this every year?
Holidays are stored per year, but you can set up several years in one sitting. Switch the year at the top of the page and enter each year's dates — you don't have to wait for the current year to finish, and you don't have to come back every January.
Will adding a holiday fix due dates that already landed on it?
No — the list only affects calculations made from here on. Tasks that already carry a due date keep it, and there's no bulk reschedule. Adjust those dates on the transactions that matter.
Which due date rules actually use business holidays?
Business Days and Calendar Days (due Business Day). A plain Calendar Days rule counts straight through them.
Do holidays apply to a date I type in myself?
No. An absolute date is used exactly as entered. Pipeline won't shift it off a holiday and won't flag the date picker to tell you it's on one.
Do business holidays show on a calendar or send an alert?
Neither. They exist purely for date math — they don't appear on any calendar in Pipeline, they don't sync out, and they never trigger a notification.
Do they affect scheduled messages too?
Yes, when the schedule counts business days. The same list applies to message schedules and to task due dates.
How do I enter a holiday that spans New Year's?
As two entries, one in each year. Put New Year's Eve under the current year, switch the year selector, and put New Year's Day under the next one.
