The monthly limit is a ceiling on Pipeline AI spending, set by a master admin and changeable at any point in the month. Answers to the common questions about setting it, changing it, and what you're actually billed.
Am I billed my full monthly limit?
No. The limit is the most you can be charged, not a subscription. Spend $40 against a $250 limit and $40 is what you're billed.
How high can I set the limit?
Anywhere from $0 to $1,500 a month. $0 pauses Pipeline AI for the team; anything above it is a ceiling you'll only ever pay into by using it.
Who can set the limit?
Master admins, and only master admins. They're also the only people who can see it.
Can I change the limit in the middle of a month?
Yes, and the change takes effect immediately. Raise it and paused AI resumes at once; lower it and the new ceiling applies from that moment.
Does the limit reset every month?
The spend resets; the limit stays. Your AI usage clears when your billing cycle rolls over, and the limit carries forward exactly as you left it.
Can I set a different limit for each location?
No — one limit covers the whole account. AI spend isn't broken out by office either. Several offices have asked us for both; tell us at help@paperlesspipeline.com if that's you, because it shapes what we build next.
Can my team see the limit, or what we're spending?
Only master admins can. AI budget and AI usage (current) show on the Current Usage panel for master admins alone. Everyone else sees the rest of that panel without those two lines.
Do I have to set a limit before I can try Pipeline AI?
No. Every account was seeded with $5.00 in starter credits, and a master admin can spend those before any limit is set.
Is the "monthly cap" on the Pipeline AI page the same thing?
Yes — same setting. The screen still says cap in places; we say limit, because it caps a charge rather than a feature.
What happens when we reach the limit?
Pipeline AI pauses for everyone until the cycle resets or you raise it. Everything else in Pipeline carries on, and your team can add and update transactions by hand at no charge.
