Budget-Exhausted Pause FAQ

A pause means the month's AI spend has met the ceiling you set, and it lifts on its own when the cycle resets. Answers to the common questions about why AI stopped, what still works, and how to bring it back.

Why did Pipeline AI stop working for everyone at once?

The month's AI spend met your monthly limit, or the limit is set to $0. The limit covers the whole account, so the pause lands on the whole account.

Can we keep working while AI is paused?

Yes — everything except the two AI actions. Adding transactions, updating them, uploading and filing documents, checklists and messaging all carry on exactly as before, at no charge.

How do we start it again?

A master admin raises the monthly limit. AI Create and AI Update come back immediately — there's nothing else to switch on.

Does it come back on its own?

Yes, when your billing cycle resets. The month's AI spend clears then, and your limit carries forward as you left it.

Does the pause only affect the person who used the last of the budget?

No — it's account-wide. One limit covers everyone in your company, so nobody has AI while it's paused.

Can I pause Pipeline AI on purpose?

Yes. Set the monthly limit to $0. That pauses it for the team without turning anything off or losing your settings, and raising the slider brings it straight back.

Does a pause undo anything we've already done?

No. Transactions your team created or updated with AI are saved and behave like any other transaction. A pause only stops the next run from starting.

How do I see a pause coming?

Watch AI usage (current) against AI budget on the Current Usage panel. Those two lines show for master admins in account settings, and the gap between them is what's left this cycle.

Your monthly limit is the ceiling on what Pipeline AI can cost your account — set it once, change it whenever you like, and you're only ever billed for the runs your team actually makes.
