Your monthly limit is the ceiling on what Pipeline AI can cost your account — set it once, change it whenever you like, and you're only ever billed for the runs your team actually makes.
Introduction
Pipeline AI is the one part of Pipeline that costs money by the action, so the first question any office asks is what stops it running away. The monthly limit is the answer, and it's a single number.
It's a ceiling rather than a subscription. Setting it doesn't commit you to spending it, and a limit nobody reaches costs nothing. One number covers the whole company, which is deliberate: there's no second budget anywhere, per office or per person, so there's nothing to reconcile and nowhere for spend to hide. The same control is also the on switch, which means Pipeline AI can't be running in your account without a ceiling already in place.
You decide the cost before the month starts instead of explaining it after it ends. Change the number whenever you want and the change applies straight away. If it turns out to be wrong in either direction, correcting it isn't difficult and isn't permanent.
How It Works
One slider on the Pipeline AI page does all of it: turning the feature on, capping the spend, and pausing it again.
A Ceiling, Not a Commitment
The limit caps what you can be charged. Billing follows the runs your team actually made, so an unused limit costs nothing.
One Limit for the Whole Account
A single limit covers everyone in your company. There's no separate limit per location or per user, and AI spend isn't broken out by office — though offices have asked us for that, so it's a request we're hearing.
The Slider Runs $0 to $1,500
Set it anywhere in that range and the change takes effect immediately. $0 pauses Pipeline AI for everyone until it's raised again.
It Resets With Your Billing Cycle
The month's AI spend clears when your billing cycle rolls over, and the limit carries forward as you left it.
You'll Also See It Called a "Cap"
Some screens still say monthly cap. Same setting, same number — we call it a limit because that's what it does.
Turn On Pipeline AI
Setting your first monthly limit is what switches Pipeline AI on for the team.
Who Can Do This: Master admins. Support can't turn Pipeline AI on for you.
To turn on Pipeline AI:
- Click the [Gear] in the upper-right corner, then [Admin / Settings].
- Under Add-On Modules, click [Pipeline AI].
- Drag the monthly limit slider to the most you want to spend in a month.
- Click [Enable Pipeline AI].
Pipeline AI is on for your account. AI Create and AI Update become available to your team, within whatever access you've set under Who Can Use AI?
Set Your Monthly Limit
Raise or lower the ceiling on Pipeline AI spending at any point in the month.
Who Can Do This: Master admins.
To set your monthly limit:
- Click the [Gear] in the upper-right corner, then [Admin / Settings].
- Under Add-On Modules, click [Pipeline AI].
- Drag the monthly limit slider to your new amount.
The new limit takes effect right away. Set it to $0 and Pipeline AI pauses for the whole team until you raise it again.
View What You've Spent on Pipeline AI
Your limit and this cycle's AI spend sit together on the Current Usage panel.
Who Can Do This: Master admins. These two lines show for master admins alone — even admins you've given AI access don't see them.
To view what you've spent on Pipeline AI:
- Click the [Gear] in the upper-right corner, then [Admin / Settings].
- Scroll to Current Usage in the left menu.
- Read AI budget — your monthly limit — against AI usage (current), what your team has spent this cycle.
You'll see how much of this month's ceiling is left, alongside your next bill date.
