Transaction Overages

Overages let you go past your monthly quota without a full upgrade — Pipeline bills each extra transaction at a flat rate.

Introduction

Some months run one or two deals past the plan you're on. It's an awkward size of problem: not enough to justify carrying a bigger plan all year, but enough to stop you opening the transaction in front of you.

Pipeline plans are sized by how many transactions you create in a billing cycle, and that limit is a real stop rather than a warning. For an office with a steady month, that works fine. For one with a listing run, a seasonal spike, or a single agent having a very good quarter, it lands at the worst possible moment. Transaction Overages are the release valve: your plan stays where it is, you keep creating transactions past the quota, and you pay for the extras and nothing else.

Nothing changes on an account until someone turns it on, so if you'd rather Pipeline held you to your plan, it still does. Once it's on, you keep working on the day you hit the limit instead of stopping to make a billing decision under pressure. And if you're going past your quota most months rather than occasionally, it's worth doing the arithmetic on a larger plan first.

How It Works

Overages sit on top of your existing plan and only ever apply once you've used your full monthly quota.

What You Pay

Pipeline bills each transaction you create beyond your monthly quota at a flat $15 per extra transaction. Your plan covers the transactions within your quota as usual — overage pricing only applies to the ones past it.

It's Opt-In

Overages stay off until you turn them on. With overages off, Pipeline holds you to your plan limit; with them on, you can keep going past your quota at the per-transaction rate.

Overages vs. Upgrading

If you routinely run over your plan, moving up a plan is usually the better value. Overages shine when you go over occasionally and don't want to carry a bigger plan the rest of the year.

Turn On Transaction Overages

Turn on overages from the same place you change plans.

Who Can Do This: Master admins.

To turn on transaction overages:

  1. Click the [Gear] in the upper-right corner, then [Admin / Settings].
  2. Under Billing in the left menu, click [Upgrade / Downgrade].
  3. Turn on the transaction overages option, then confirm.

Once overages are on, you can keep creating transactions after you reach your monthly quota, and Pipeline bills each extra one at the flat overage rate. You can turn overages back off from the same place whenever you like.

When a Bigger Plan Is the Better Answer

Going over most months rather than occasionally is the point where the arithmetic turns. Moving up isn't a commitment either — an upgrade takes effect immediately, and you can drop back down once the quiet months come round.

Pipeline bills on a simple monthly transaction plan — a ladder you move up or down as your deal volume changes.
