Transaction Overages FAQ

Overages are opt-in and let you exceed your quota at a flat $15 per extra transaction. Answers to the common questions about turning them on, what they cost, and when to use them instead of upgrading.

What is a transaction overage?

It's a transaction you create past your monthly quota. With overages turned on, you can keep creating transactions after you hit your plan limit, and each extra one is billed at a flat rate.

How much does an overage cost?

A flat $15 per extra transaction. Only transactions beyond your monthly quota are charged the overage rate; everything within your quota is covered by your plan.

Do I have to turn overages on?

Yes — they're opt-in. Until a master admin enables them, Pipeline stops you at your plan limit just as before.

Where do I enable overages?

In the Upgrade / Downgrade area of Admin / Settings. Click the Gear in the upper-right corner, choose Admin / Settings, open Upgrade / Downgrade under Billing, and turn on the overages option.

Should I use overages or just upgrade my plan?

Overages suit occasional overflow; upgrading suits steady growth. If you run over most months, a higher plan is usually the better value. If it's a rare busy stretch, overages save you from carrying a bigger plan year-round.

Can I turn overages back off?

Yes. A master admin can switch overages off from the same Upgrade / Downgrade area at any time.
